February phone photos

Oh February, what a fun, interesting month.  Back to back birthdays for the first time - that will be fun for many years to come.  A very exciting V-day!  Weeks worth of snow days and sick days!  Chilling at the house, staying warm, hanging out!  Here are some of the snapshot moments.

Boston is a pretty ultimate lounger and cuddler.  Daddy propped up his bottle with this over mitt, and it was much appreciated.

Solana is quite the architect and builder.  She is really into bridges and arches for her little friends.

Solana fell in love with a bouquet of roses that Adam got for her on Valentines' Day.  That girl loves her flowers and always has.
A Really Big Arch!

Car seat upgrade time!  Big Boston outgrew his infant seat, so we bought Solana a bigger toddler seat, and Boston switched into this seat.  He loves it!  The first time we drove around, he just sat there with the biggest smile, which he kept for days in the car.  Now, he just stares out the window, totally content.
Our little happy man.
Getting a haircut - looks great, Solana!
And a ribbon for another excellent gymnastics performance!

The Day of Love

Happy Valentines Day 2014!
This day was especially wonderful because it was the first day in a week that we were finally not sick anymore! After a brutal week, this day was very bright! We started off with some delicious pink heart pancakes. They are Solana's favorite, and I love making them because I make them pink by pureeing some beets, and you can't even taste them. So yummy AND nutricious!
Then we dropped Solana off for her 1st day back at school after being sick and she was especially excited to celebrate her first school Valentines' Day and give all her friend the cards she had made. She had a great day - with lots of sugar!!!!!
Sadly Adam and I did not go out — I was the one who got sick last and was still in recovery mode, so we stayed in and watched a movie, which was wonderful.  We had two bouquets sitting on our table from Adam. One bouquet of roses for Solana and one bouquet of tulips for me. He is the best!

Mmmmm…..

The breakfast crew.

My banner turned out pretty good and I was pretty proud of myself for getting it done :) Just a simple heart felt banner to hang on the kids door —

... or around your face...

...or around your entire body!  Solana wrapped him all up. haha.

"I love Valentines' Day!"

All playful and hyper after school - bouncing off the walls with Valentines sugar!

Dinner was pink macaroni and cheese. Another favorite!

Even Baby B loved it!

The Last of the 20's- Adam's 29th birthday!!

Oh how I love this man of mine! I cannot believe he is 29! But what I'm really excited for is his 30th, because then we will both be in our 30's!! But till then, he is going to have the best last year of his 20's. Looking back, it has been a wonderful year.  28 was great — we brought a new baby boy into the family mix, we lived in NYC for a summer, and he accepted his job offer in the city. He said goodbye to his youngest sister Olivia as she left on her mission, and his parents moved only an hour away from us here in Virginia. 28 was full of great changes for him, but 29 is going to be even better, and I swear each year gets better and better. This year, age 29, will bring graduation from law school, studying and taking the New York bar exam (and hopefully passing), moving to NYC, and finally starting his career as a corporate attorney, and lots of other firsts that come with moving. It's going to be another great year!
His birthday, however, was a little rough to begin with. We awoke that morning to two sick kids! Two kids that were cranky, tired, and very needy. (No doubt partially worn out from the excitement of Boston's birthday the day before!)  He went to play basketball, had a nice lunch with Solana and his parents, then came back for a party at the house in the afternoon.  Then I planned a surprise dinner at our favorite restaurant. He was so surprised, and that was best part! He has never had a surprise party, and I figured now was the time to do that, so a couple of our friends were there waiting at the restaurant when we arrived and he was pretty confused for a second before putting it together and realizing that it actually was a party for him. He loved it!  Then we finished off our date night birthday party with a movie, which was excellent! Adam's parents were so nice to watch our sick kids and handle them for hours, so thank you Brad and Cynthia!
Adam had a wonderful birthday, and having both Boston's and Adam's birthday back to back actually was very fun, and we are looking forward to it each year. Parties are wonderful!!
Happy 29th babe!

The birthday man at his best!

He has to have a banner too.

Making two cakes back to back was actually very fun. Adam's was divine - in the sense that if everything in heaven was all made out of chocolate, this would capture that flavor! And I was so proud of myself for how I decorated it. But it did take awhile, so good thing we don't have cake often.

Mmmm……

When we got home for the evening,  the kids were not sleeping, Boston was cranky and Solana had taken a late nap, so she was up at 10pm and ready to party. So here is the late night party crew.  Haha!

Happy Birthday Adam!

Boston's 1st Birthday Bash!

Boston turned one!! And it was probably the fastest year of my life. How did he get so big so fast!?
At one year old, he is the happiest boy around. He loves to play games and tease others with his cute smiles, and playing with his sister is his new favorite activity (Solana calls him her pet puppy).  He also loves music! He is drawn to anything that makes noise and especially loves it if he can make music. He also just learned to dance and its so cute (and hilarious) to watch.  Boston loves loves loves to cuddle and be held.  He is the best eater, and will eat almost anything, except bananas.
He weighs 23 pounds and is 31.5" tall.  Everywhere we go we get the comment "He is tall for his age!" Yes, he is, and we have no idea where that gene came from, but its fun.
He is also the biggest climber (never a problem with his sister) but oh man all he wants to do is climb on top of everything!! So we are adjusting to that. He just loves being up high and going fast. So I'm assuming a typical boy, but we are still learning.

Happy 1st Birthday Bos-man!!

We did an all things "B" themed birthday bash. Lots of blue, balloons, banners, brownies, bunnies, bears, blueberries, blackberries, black bean hummus and blue chips. And of course, blue cake balls.

I was so proud of his cake that I made, and I was so grateful my good friend Ashley taught be how to do it! It was my first time decorating a cake from scratch.  Yay for me, and super yay for Ashley being so nice to share her talents :)

So handsome….

My little Bostie boy.

Solana was more excited for his birthday than he was. But I think she was just excited to eat cake pops.
But she did have a blast, especially "helping" him open all his presents :)

The birthday party crew, well minus grandparents...

He didn't love it, he took a couple of bites and was over it. I even put pineapple in it, in hopes that he would like it more (he loves pineapple) but no sweets for this little man.  He made better progress once he got a fork, but he really hated having frosting on his hands, and cried until I wiped it off.

Hmmm…still not so sure.

He was spoiled by lots of family and its so nice that he actually has boy toys now! Here he is standing on the baby grand piano that Grammy and Grandpa Brad got him, which this little music man loves.

Happy Birthday to the Best Little Buddy Ever!!! We love you Boston!!!
