Halloween + 1

Happy Halloween!!!
After a long, drawn-out decision making process, Solana finally picked her costume. First, she wanted to be a princess.  Then a puppy.  Then a kitty.  Finally, with some creative suggesting by Adam, she settled on a combo: a pink princess kitty.  For Boston's first halloween, we thought he would make an adorable teddy bear. And he sported it well.

She was high on candy when we picked her up from school on Halloween day. It was actually pretty funny to witness her having even more energy than she already does.

Aw...first halloween costumes are the best!

Happy Halloween from Instagram and Twitter!

We stayed up way too late making our costumes the night before our friends' Halloween party, but it was really fun.  I loved that I finally got to have fun with my last name, since everyone always like to make jokes about, yes, how prestigious it is. So my user name was @soprestigious. haha. And I tried to think of what could be my post, and then Adam had the idea about the wig and having new haircut. So then it kind of came together.

Hanging out at the Halloween party.  It was a little difficult to hold a baby and keep the filter on.

Halloween school parade. She was a little shy at first.

During the singing part of the show, she started yelling at me to take her picture. So she obviously got over her crowd shyness.

Her bestie Laila.

Her "adopted" little brother Miles. She was making sure he wouldn't wander off.  She is always trying to help out our good friends Peter and Ashely by being a good "adopted" big sister.

She had a blast trick or treating with her friends. What a bunch of cutie princess girls.

Happy Halloween 2013!

Pumpkin Patch: Round 3

Every year we go to the pumpkin patch out near Toano. Which made this year was our 3rd, and last year, and it was crazy to realize how fast time has gone.  It was also fun to finish our last trip with Boston's first trip - it is so interesting to experience the same thing for the first time again!  The firsts are always so fun, and then if you attach a fun tradition to it, it makes it even better.  So here are the last round of pumpkin patch photos from Virginia.

Yeah, she is kind of obsessed with kittens, even if they come if the form of a scary one.

Boston on his first hay ride - He LOVED it!

"Watch out daddy, the kitty's coming to get you!"

Oh, and now the scary kitten is part of the family. We indulge her love for animals in all forms, except for real ones. Adam is allergic to cats. And in a small apartment, we probably won't have any pet bigger than a goldfish.  But I'm sure we'll break down eventually and have like 3 dogs someday, haha.

Hello...perfect! This NEVER happens.  This one might get framed. Normal smiles and all.

Pockets on clothes is like hitting the jackpot. She always wants to put them to use.

Last week he started standing all on his own. Now he wants to stand hands free whenever he can.

Finally found the pumpkin winner.

I love how candid this photo is.  Pretty realistic.

Solana: "And look, Bosty, this is corn."  Boston: "Ooooo."

October craze

Random Fun Things from October

Hitting up the library.  It's a regular for us.

I love finding her selfies on my phone. haha.  Who knew you could learn to do that at age 3?

She has now started feeding Boston.  The perks of having 2 are finally starting to kick in.  Boston thinks Solana is awesome, and will crawl around the house following her with whatever she is doing.  About half of the time, Solana thinks it is great and will do whatever she can to make him bust up, which doesn't take much.  The other half of the time, she just tries to escape!

This is how I watched the LDS conference. Adam was traveling, and it was just me sitting at the kitchen table while these two played at my feet.  Which made it really easy for me to tune them out and watch it live. (because I knew right where they were) And it was the best conference session.  So it worked out.

I think my hair towel is her cape or something, I don't remember now, but she wanted me to take her picture with this face.

Then she wanted me to do the same.

The other sessions of conference were watched like this.  No, she is not watching conference, she is watching a movie while we sit and watch conference in peace.

I still love finding Boston all dressed up.  Solana came and found me and said "Look he is super Boston!"  He is such a good sport.

Solana loves hanging out with Daddy while he works out. She thinks its game time to use him as a jungle gym.

She wanted to wear my halloween wig.  hahahaaa!

While enjoying one our movie nights, I looked over at him and started busting up laughing. We were enjoying popcorn drizzled with melted chocolate and not to my surprise, Adam had it all over him. Oh that man...

Bedtime stories have become hilarious.  Since Boston is so mobile now, he loves to participate/destroy any book that is currently being read. We try and read another or distract him, but he only wants the one that is being read to Solana.  We usually end up reading it high up in the air so he can't reach it at all. We are still working on getting a system down.

Lego buddies

Boston is pretty fast on the stairs, but Solana thinks its so fun to race him. And she always wins, which is the sad and funny part, because both parties think it is just SO fun and want to race again and again.

He is always happy when he can climb.

Serious pumpkin artists.  You might think we were too lazy to carve them, but I think painting them just  allowed us to be more creative.

She loves loves loves to paint.

Happy October!
