Our fabulous friends recently invited us out to their beach rental in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Adam and I have always wanted to go and it was perfect to have such great friends to venture out with. Sadly we could only stay 1 night, and also - it was freezing! (That lingering winter continues to give...) But we had a blast anyway. Playing on the beach is always fun no matter what.
The first thing we did when we got there was play on the sand. It was so cold and windy, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Honestly, I don't know how they did it - Adam and I were FREEZING!!! But I guess when you're a little kid, and you're collecting sea shells and playing in the sand, you just get in a zone and don't even notice the biting cold wind.
I went out to feel the water and me feet were definitely numb. Brrrrr…..
Solana went on an crazy shell hunting adventure. It was so fun to witness her excitement.
Miniature golfing as a family for the first time.
Solana LOVED it! And she was surprisingly good at it! We were the only ones there, so we breezed through it pretty fast with all of us.
Boston loved it too. Every new hole he would walk up and put everyone's ball in to the hole. haha
Adam and Chris and his son Andon. We stayed only 5 minutes from Kill Devil Hills, and so we went and visited the Wright Brothers museum and saw where they took their first flight!
Those are the replicas of the first airplanes flown by the Wright Brothers!
It was pouring rain, so Boston and I stayed in the car while Adam and Solana and Chris and Andon hiked to the top of the hill where the first flight departed from. Here, Solana is striking the "airplane" pose.

Flying high!
One more trip out the beach before we left. Not pictured - Adam, Chris, and Peter all did a polar plunge and jumped into the freezing ocean!!!
Solana had so much fun playing with Trevin - we were so excited she had friends to play with.
The group before we took off. We hope to do it again next year. We will fly out from the city to hang out with this group anytime!
