Home change anyone?? Uh yes please!!
So a while ago Adam had this genius idea to sign us up for house exchanges. Since NYC is the number one desination in the world (in terms of most-highly desired for vacation exchanges), we figured someone would want to stay in our 1 bedroom. As soon as we signed up we were flooded with requests from around the world. At first we didn't know what to do, then we realized how great this could actually be. So even though we mostly want to use it for international travel, we decided to start out small and local. So we swapped homes with a family that live out in the Hamptons. We decided to go out on Easter weekend, which also happened to be spring break for Solana, and our LDS General Conference as well. So we were pretty excited to have some space to spread out and relax and hit up the beach (even though it was not beach weather).
The swap was easy peasy and we had no trouble whatsoever. We are so excited for our future swaps, maybe in far-flung destinations. I guess living in a crazy expensive city has its perks!
Here are the highlights are our fabulous and almost perfect weekend.
Solana has only experienced a trampoline like once in her life, so having one in the backyard all weekend was perfect!

Sunday morning we headed to Montauk to visit one of the oldest working lighthouses in the country. (It has been working since 1796!)
Montauk was gorgeous and I can only imagine it gets magnified in the spring and summer.
Adam and Solana climbed to the top of the lighthouse, which is really steep and pretty scary - no really, the stairs were small and tight and winding. But they made it!

Boston was in boy heaven where we stayed. More cars and trains then he could handle.
Since we have never had a back yard, having one all weekend felt magical. We all had fun being outside and having it all to ourselves. We definitely miss having some space outside.
Teaching Solana how to play crack the egg was the highlight of my trip. And being on a trampoline brought back so many fun memories growing up. And now I really want one!
Adam was really good as this game. We had a blast!! And Solana had fun seeing her parents act just like her.
Solana invented her own log game. It was pretty fun. Sometimes it amazes me how creative this little 4 year old is.
Another highlight was playing at the beach. It was cold and windy, but we loved every moment!!

Yeah they were exhausted! The car ride home was almost perfect, until Solana got car sick and threw up about 30 minutes from home. Good times, good times…
But seriously you should try home exchange. Just think of the movie The Holiday.
Its so worth it!
