The Trip Finale!

Towards the end of our holiday trip, we had a special opportunity.  We flew from Salt Lake to Sacramento for a brief weekend with Adam's extended family, where Solana got to meet Adam's grandpa, Richard, for the first time.  Grandpa Richard is a really great man, and has always been a wonderful grandpa to Adam.  Recently, he's been in struggling health, and he lives in a small assisted-living home, and is unable to travel or even talk on the phone really, so it was very important to us to be able to go see him.
It was a really wonderful experience to be there with him, and to introduce Solana to her great grandpa.  Solana and Grandpa Richard got along great!

All of Adam's family was there with his Mom and Dad, brother Aaron, and sisters, Sarah and Olivia.  His Aunt and Uncle Tom and Katherine were also there, with his cousins Katrina, and her husband Ryan, and Alicia, with her fiancé Colin.  Adam's other cousin, Ryan, and his girlfriend Madison arrived  later that evening.  It was the first time the family has been together since the summer of 2009, and it was a lot of fun to spend time together and to all be there with Grandpa Richard.

Finishing up the last of our trip to Utah.

Her best friends and cousins.  She asks me all the time if she can fly to California to see Alec and Addie.  She had so much fun getting to know them. I wish we lived by them, but I guess first we have to finish our east coast tour and then we can make it back out to the most beautiful and expensive part of the country. Maybe the cost of living will have gone down by the time we move back to Southern California :)

Yes, I made Adam pull over so I could get a picture of this sign. I got really excited over it.  I mean, really, the intersection of Adam Street & Cheyenne Street!

A little ice skating anyone?

I was so impressed with how well Solana did, she really enjoyed it for like 2 rounds. Then she just wanted to play in the snow with Gigi. So Adam worked on his ice skating skills alone.  But I was impressed with both of them.  I love ice skating and wish I could have gone.

Can you tell we were tired on our way home?  Solana just passed out cold through our whole 2.5 hour layover in the lovely Atlanta airport and even on the next flight home.  That is rare thing for her. I think we slept as well.  It was a great 3 weeks, but we were happy to be home.
