April phone highlights

With spring finally arriving, we ventured to CW pretty often. And Solana could pick flowers all day everyday and be the happiest girl in the world.  No, literally, she could just constantly pick flowers and be so happy.

Bubbles at CW!
Mommy getting tired at CW!

If he has a bowl of popcorn, he will watch anything on the TV. Its my secret tool to get him to stay still while I clean.  (And of course, Frozen is on our tv.)

I got to help out in Solana school. So Bostie came along and helped out as well. Solana was excited to show her brother everything. Like the water table!

She builds lots of structures at school. Its favorite things to do there.  Double towers!  So intense!

Her cubby

Boston takes the saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" very literally. He wants one every day and to eat it whole. iIt usually takes him about an hour.  Adam now has to core it first, otherwise Boston will devour the entire thing if we don't watch carefully.

More flower picking!
And now we're in a box!

Boston, rocking out on his mini piano.  He loves to play piano.  Sometimes, he'll just wander back and forth between his mini piano and our upright piano, just banging keys on each one.

Our "dinner" table for the time being, while we waited for our new one to arrive.

Sometimes, Boston can get pretty cozy.
Solana, enjoying some time with her crew, which included, at this point, the Jesus doll from school and her sleeping baby.
Boston loves the computers at the library!  It is a full time endeavor to keep him from climbing on the desktop or pounding the keyboard.

Last, but not least, this is where Adam spent pretty much all of the month of April - with his head tucked into a stack of papers and notes on his computer, studying for his last round of finals ever!  So excited to be done!

April Showers

April was a fun and busy month, yet again. But it was busy with all the activities you want to do, like watching General Conference, furniture buying and selling, Easter fun, and parties. Here are the highlights:

Bostie boy gets to hang with me all by himself most mornings when Solana is at school.  We love our time together! And he has a serious shoe eating obsession.  He also loves to put his shoes on his hands and just walk around with shoes on his hands, like, just chilling.  He does it so much that sometimes we call him "Little Shoe Hands".  Haha, not very creative, but what else are you going to call a kid who is walking around the house with shoes on his hands?

We said goodbye to the beloved Purple Chair. It was my first piece of furniture I bought for myself when I moved to San Francisco and got it from my company. It has been with us everywhere. But being a designer, and loving change - when its out of style its out of style. And I get sick of lots of things really quickly. So we sold it! (I was only sad for like 5 minutes, then I got over it, haha.)

Goodbye Purple Chair!

Solana decided to build a rocket with styrofoam.   No telling what she'll build next.

Adam putting the kids' new desk together.

Durning conference weekend Solana took over the place. (Glad she's using her new desk…)

Highlight of the month! We finally got a new table and chairs. We sold our old table, surprisingly, very quickly and this one was on back order. So we waited for a month for it to arrive. We couldn't be happier with it. It's so fun to finally feel like a grown up and buy furniture that is actually your own style :)

Spring finally arrived in Virginia. So we ventured out to the back patio a lot.

Solana likes to pretend she has planted lots of flowers, so she goes around watering the yard quite often in hopes that some will grow.   We really should get some seeds.

This is my view from the kitchen on most days. And I never get tired of it. Love those silly kids.

This photo melts my little heart each time. He loves to go in the corner and sit quietly and read right before bedtime. Usually he is such a wild boy while we read stories, but this time I grabbed a photo of mister mellow reader. Love him!

March phone photos

Well, another month has come and gone.  No, not April - that's come and gone too - but we're still looking back at March, a cold and fun month!  Here are a few of the great highlights from our phones:

Solana has been super into tea parties lately!  It has been so fun.  Here, I've been invited to join Solana and Doggy for a tea party, with ice cream cones!  So fun to see her creativity and imagination.

One of the definite highlights of March for Adam and Solana was going skiing in Virginia!  It is something Adam has wanted to do for as long as we've lived here, and the long, snowy winter finally gave him the chance.  (He actually drove up with a friend in February, and got to the resort to find that an intense ice storm was creating conditions with ZERO visibility and the entire mountainside was just a giant sheet of ice.  So, they turned back.  When Solana found out that she had missed a chance to go, she was very sad, so Adam was determined to take her next time.)  They were joined by Grammy, and it was wonderful to have her along.  They built this snowman during a little ski break.

Grammy and Solana were both very proud of this snow-girl, who Solana named, not surprisingly, Alla, her random name of the month.

Solana is becoming a great little skier.  This was her second time, and she is really starting to get the hang of it!  We can't wait for her to keep getting better and better!

Adam is getting to be a better ski-teacher too!  (It was only Adam's third time skiing, actually.  He is much more of a snowboarder.)

Solana's favorite part was riding the lift.

Here is the whole ski group!

Solana improved even more once she got set up with the ski-tow set up.  She was really flying on her own!

Cruising down the hill!  Great time skiing!

Bedtime is always actually a pretty smooth routine lately - the kids really support each other when they get tired!

Here, Solana is building a dinosaur fort out of some packaging styrofoam - always creative!

Solana with her friend from school, Macaroni, who spent the weekend with us.  Macaroni did all kinds of activities with Solana, including ballet and shopping (below), and Solana wrote about it in her journal for school.

This was the first warmer day of the year - hard to believe!  We excitedly went to the park and enjoyed the sunshine!

Boston LOVES brushing his teeth.

Carpooling.

Adam, Solana, and Boston met up with Grammy and Grandpa for a trip to the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach!  It was a really fun day!

We sold our dining room table, and while we waited for our new one to arrive, we had about a week of all sharing the kids' table!  It was pretty fun to all crowd around that short little table.  The kids loved it!

Here's Boston - sometimes he's just as sweet and cute as a little puppy.

Happy March!
