Spurs Championship #5! and Fathers Day!

So, I'm obviously a little behind on this, but I figured I would make sure that I recorded a couple of awesome memories for me.  The first was a lovely Father's Day - it is weird because when I think of Father's Day, I think of just like, being old - I don't really think of myself as deserving to have a Father's Day celebrated for me.  I just feel like I'm still not grown up enough for all of the Father's Day stuff - ties, tools, etc… Or am I?

Boston is my little cuddle buddy.  That kid loves to cuddle, and so do I!

Nice!  A Father's Day tie!  I love it!

And tools!  Well, not new tools, but newly organized tools!  (I told CheyAnn a while ago that was the only thing I wanted for Father's Day, since my tool kit had become such a mess!)
So, maybe I'm just right for Father's Day after all…

Teaching Boston the Spurs way at an early age.  It is funny because Solana used to wear that shirt too, but she outgrew it, and now it is passed to little B man.  They'll be deeply indoctrinated Spurs fans no matter where we grow up.

It was a big summer for us in basketball terms.  The biggest and greatest and most awesome summer ever!

The Spurs roared through the playoffs and it was SO fun!  Even though I was studying for the bar, I made sure that I didn't miss a single game!  (I figured out that I ended up watching over 80 hours of basketball in a 8 week period.  I love it!  Thanks to CheyAnn for putting up with that!)

Every time the Spurs played a daytime game, like on the weekends, I made sure it was a family event.  I'm just beaming with pride at my little Spurs family.

So, this is me, at the end, when we clinched Championship #5.  Yes, you better believe I use the collective "we", as most real San Antonio fans do.  I've been 100% invested from the beginning - I attended my first Spurs game in Kindergarten - and this was the finest moment of them all.
When the Spurs lost the championship in 7 games last year, I literally laid motionless on the floor for like 30 minutes.  I cried.  Honestly, for many nights, as I would fall asleep, I would think about the lost Finals and have just this nagging pit in my heart that would keep me awake.
So this, to come back against all odds, to win our 5th championship in the most dominant NBA Finals series ever - I mean, honestly, my life as a basketball fan is complete.  I'll forever be satisfied by the sweet sweet deep joy of that victory.  The best championship ever.   I LOVE my team, they are a part of me.  I'm so proud and so satisfied and so ecstatic.  It was a dream come true.

PreK-3 highlights. First year complete

Solana finished her first year of school ever. She is all done with PreK-3!  It was hard to send her each day (because she is our sweet little girl - Adam would get a little sad every time he dropped her off) but we couldn't have been happier with her education.  She grew so much in so many levels.  She outgrew her public shyness and started talking more in groups.  She learned how to play well with others. She learned all her letters, learned to write and started reading. She became such great artist and block builder.  (Surprisingly, she really loves math and building things, as much as she loves colors and stories.) Her curious mind grew and grew.  She loves flowers and gardening and taking care of others. She loves to make anything and everything. She loves school and that makes us so happy.  We will miss her school so much. Her amazing teacher sent me all the photos she took of Solana throughout the year. Here's our little sunshine girl in school.

Thank you Walsingham Academy for a great year!

June gloom and June bloom!

June was anything but gloomy, but the weather sure was. We had lots of rainy days, and when the rain comes, so does the humidity.  So for a while we spent lots of days indoors, playing games and recovering from a busy May.  We also had Fathers Day, and a lots of Spurs games, and Adam's every increasingly busy schedule of bar studies. (Adam just commented that he doesn't even know where June went.  "Did June happen?" (He was in the library 6 days a week for the entire month.) But it became officially pools and popsicles season, so getting some color on our white skin has made everyone happy.

Just playing a little princess candy land.

Solana is learning all about selfies….

She loves them! Grrrr….

Solana loves picnics more than anyone I know.  So one evening when we picked up Adam from the library, we headed over to the park near his school for some dinner on the grass.  It was perfect weather and a perfect way to start the weekend.

My 3 most favorite people in the whole world!

He is learning to climb the daddy ladder.

Love her sunbeam class. She has the best teacher in the whole world! Look at those faces!

Who loves popsicles?! I  love them as well because my kids are so quiet and focused while they eat them, haha!  (and when they fall in the pool, no big deal - just pick it back up and keep eating it!)

For a while I was too lazy to walk 2 minutes to the pool, so I bought an inflatable one for the "yard" and it has worked out really nice. Solana goes out a lot while Bostie sleeps and we just have some girl time. I love it!

Soccer practice, her new favorite sport..again.

We try so hard to not do sweets, but when this sweet face begs to bake cookies with me, I have a hard time saying no. So pink sugar cookies it was.

Her selfies are the best! She said she likes it when she has two chins, haha!

Silly silly silly

He could hang out in the car all day. He loves it and I have no idea why.

Well, Boston's wild little mullet hair got long and curly enough, and it was time to give it a little trim - his first haircut!

Adam did a great job, especially since he often cuts his own.

Bedtime fun.

"mommy take a picture of me under my mushroom"

Park time never get old, but when its early in the morning and I'm already sweating because it's 90 degrees outside - agh!

My favorite. I love it when the play together.  It has been so fun because they do it more and more.  It is just awesome to see them become little best friends!
