FOUR LESSONS FROM OUR FIRST DAY IN PARIS

Hello Dear People:

We have arrived in Paris and are having the time of our lives. It is so fun. This will be a very short post. I’ll explain why.

4 LESSONS FROM OUR FIRST DAY IN PARIS

1) An eleven hour direct flight to Paris is really great. With two meals, earplugs and a mask, an eleven hour flight goes by really fast. Board one plane in SLC, wake up in Paris. Wonderful.

2) Jet Lag is real. Real as can be. It’s nine pm Paris time (who knows what time in Salt Lake?), and CheyAnn and I have been dragging for hours. We’ve finally crashed a few minutes ago, and it’s taking all of my energy to type this.

3) Our French isn’t very good. We had a very difficult time at a restaurant this evening. However, we realized that it’s better to try to speak French and fail than to smile and speak in English. I think you get points for trying.

4) Paris is an amazingly wonderful city to walk. Even in a short evening outing to the Eiffel Tower and some other areas, we made a large loop and saw some wonderful things. The city is much smaller than it seems.

We’ll have more energy tomorrow. Paris is so romantic, and I can’t wait to see what it’s like after 8pm!
