Life through a phone

A couple of months ago I actually caught up with the rest of the world and got an iphone! To be honest, Solana figured out how to use it before I could, but still we were both loving it! I can't believe all it does, and all I do is search for apps to make me more efficient! I love all my photos apps, organizing apps, and quick ways to do everything better apps. I can't believe the world we live in now. I don't feel that old, but I totally remember my mom having a cell phone in her car, like attached with a CORD to the car! I remember thinking how great it was to be able to call her while she was out and actually talk to her, I think I was like 8 or so. Then I was recently watching home movies with my sister Brittany and for my 17th birthday I got a PAGER! (hello most pointless invention ever!) And I didn't even get a cell phone until I was in college. Now that much has time has passed and my phone can do everything my brain can, but better! So I haven't even busted out the fancy camera lately and now my life is all on my phone. Here is a recap (via iphone camera apps) of the last few months.

My first photo on my phone, I was pretty excited!

Valentines day cutie

Learning to dress herself. It's usually a skirt! And we have discovered her favorite colors are orange and yellow!!!

Downtown CW at the fresh market.

Our first painting project. Each day I'm trying to teach her something new. She LOVED painting!!

Adam at his "study spot" in the library. His home away from home......

A day at the zoo!!

I made pillows!!!
My friend Sarah taught me how, then she let me borrow her sewing machine, so I went to town.....and I made 10 of them!

And that is our life these days.

West coast tour

Another Ross family get together!? Sign me up! I hadn't seen my family for 6 months, so we were missing everyone pretty bad. So when we got word that everyone was getting together, we made it happen for us to be there. Sadly Adam could not join us, he was the only one missing! But we had a blast. I regret not taking photos, I think I put my brain a little too much on vacation mode and forgot stuff on a daily basis. SO most of the photos are from Vegas. But I have great memories of staying up late and dancing the night away, staying up late to catch up with my best friend ( I'm pretty sure you left at 4am Terra!)  running around with mom and going crazy with the spray paint at her house, and watching her put together Mr. Potoato head with Solana, and both of them not doing it right, lol! And of course I had a blast at Britt's moving all her furniture around and trying to re-design every aspect of her place. Sometimes I can't keep up with her creativity.
It was a big success and I'm so glad we made it out west. I love my whole family and every time we get together I am reminded why I love them so much!

Grandma is in heaven!

Love that little sweet Alec, she is the kindest most tender-hearted little girl ever.

Solana loves her Addie! When we got home, she had named her babies Brooke and Addie.

Hunter just makes me laugh. I have the best brothers, but this moment was priceless.  He watched Elmo clips with her for what seemed like an hour! The best part is the pink bubble necklace he is sportin' around his neck. Such a good uncle Hunter!

16 days later, and 6 flights later we were home! Solana was beyond burnt out, she slept for days when we got back home, and it was refreshing to have my happy daughter back. Maybe the next trip will be shorter......

Besties in town!

We had our best friends Matt and Heather come out in January for a visit to the east coast!! It was a short action packed weekend, and we had a blast! I don't think Solana agreed with the schedule or the weather, but she survived.  At this point I don't even remember the details of the trip, but I do remember having a blast in DC, eating great food, Solana screaming in the cab ride back the hotel, and falling asleep in and out of conversation on our 3 hour drive home from DC, and I remember wishing it would be 50 degrees warmer with no wind. But most importantly I wish we had more time while they were here, even though we packed it all in, we miss them a lot, and we did not want it to end! Nor do I think Matt or Adam wanted to get to back to school.
So here are the highlights, I guess I only busted out the camera for DC, but we did show them Williamsburg, and we attempted Jamestown. Enjoy!

First was the Capitol Building. Random factoid: Which dollar bill has this building on it?? Matt got it, but sadly we didn't have the bill on us to take the picture.....

Cute chubby little thing

Solana's first movie in a movie theater.......A movie about the Capitol, in the Capitol!

Matt and Heather brought this hilarious hat for her, but she did not love wearing it as much as we loved watching her wear it. But it has grown on her, and we laugh every time we make her wear it.

Pretty good picture taken from the stroller on timer.

She really loved the museums with animals, and she wanted to scale this wall to the elephant pretty badly.

Adam's favorite part of the Natural History museum.

Sweetest little photo ever.
She loves uncle Matt, and he kept her warm for quit some time. It was CHILLLeeeeee!!!!

We were one cold group at the Arlington National Cemetery. This cemetery is one of the oldest in the country and is the resting spot for some 14,000 soldiers.

Solana's miserable face is priceless. I'm pretty sure by this time of the trip she had disowned us as parents.
This was last stop, President John F. Kennedys grave, it was beautiful to see, and the eternal flame that burns creates a solemn feeling at the gravesite. It was touching.

Well that was it, till next time guys!!!
