Juney June June

June was fun, June was busy, June was full of success!

Solana was not out of school until the end of the month, so it wasn't quite summertime at our house. But we tried to pretend it was as much as we could. The month flew by with so many things, and as life goes faster and faster, I'm so glad I have this the blog to keep it recorded.

We headed out to a little house in Chelsea for this fun art exhibit by Yayoi Kusama.  When you enter the house, you are handed a sheet of stickers, then you go to town.  We saw the exhibit towards the end of its run, so it was pretty thoroughly stickered, but we had fun!

Boston added a couple to the chair, can you tell?

Siting out front with her bestie at the art exhibit.

Painting for Grammy's birthday.

A Traders run usually looks like this afterward.  All about those stickers.

Every week the kids go to soccer in Battery Park and love it.

They wish they could be on the same team. Boston could actually just join the older the kids because he is that good. I think we have a future athlete on our hands.

After soccer, we head over to gardening class!

Planting some cilantro...

We finally took advantage of our pool. It was perfect, and we can't wait to spend the rest of summer here.

One of our favorite couples in the city (a truly wonderful couple!) And the food was amazing as well.

This is a typical ride home from church on the city bus. The kids playing and Boston fast asleep.

Little brothers are great, but not when they bite a nice piece of your cute chubby cheek...

Art show at school. It was one of her favorite classes.

His bed head is the best! I love his curls.

Solana love cement trucks ( I have not idea where it came from) so when she saw them actually poor cement, we had to stop for 10 minutes and watch the whole process. In the words of Solana, "that was actually amazing!!"

I'm excited to match with this little one all summer long.

Get comfy Bostie, its going to be a good nap.

Solana participating in her graduation, or rather, "Moving Up" ceremony at preschool. When they walked in and played some graduation music, I got a little emotional about it all. The little event was great - the kids sang, the principal talked for all of 30 seconds, and our little girl walked the stage!

Her sweet teachers Louise and Amy.

She is all set for kindergarten.

We did it. Lots of energy went it to her school year. And I have no idea who is more excited that she is done. Probably me.  I walked a mile and half everyday to get her after class. And yes it was in rain, snow, or shine!

They got each other out the door each morning so they could catch the city bus to school.  Adam loved every morning they got to talk and play "I Spy" and "Name that Animal" on the way to school.

A little 5 year old check up.

We were lucky to have Grammy here for her birthday. We were all exited for her birthday and a great reason to have a party!

Her last day of class. She got to spend the morning with her 2 friends from the afternoon class. She loved it!

Her last day of class. Adam and I flew out for the weekend for a trip, so Grammy and Grandpa took her out to celebrate with cupcakes.

Summer finally arrived here. Splash pads here we come!

Summer has arrived and we couldn't be more excited for no schedules and lots of fun in the sun.

Father's Day happiness

Father's Day is always so much fun. We love to party and we have all the reasons in the world to celebrate this incredible man of mine. He is the best dad (and I hope everyone thinks that about their own) but Adam is the best! He is such a great teacher to these two little kiddies. He is also so fun to play with, and he puts up with so much being the human jungle gym when he comes home from work.  His creativity always blows my mind with all he comes up with.
This Father's Day was a nice and easy one.  We had a mellow day going to church, opening a few little presents, making one his favorites at each meal, and playing. The bummer for him was having to end his night working from home, but his hard work is just one more thing we love about him!

Happy Father's Day!

Solana made the best "Why I love my Daddy" book.

Boston is always helpful in the unwrapping department.

Corporate Zoo Day

The Central Park Zoo is probably is bets known for the great kids' movie "Madagascar", but the reality of this zoo is not at all what the movie portrays. It lacks just about all the animals they show.  When Adam first showed up for an event his firm was putting on, he was like, "Hey, where are the lions?!"
BUT its still a zoo, and so the kids love it no matter what. The kids especially love it when Adam's law firm rents the entire zoo for the evening and they have everything you could ever want at a zoo: a craft table for the kids, face painting, and a candy table (where kids can literally fill bags full of any candy they want).  Oh and they had a fabulous dessert table, they had wonderful kid food and even great big kid food.
It was a perfectly cool evening spent at the zoo with some of Adam's colleagues and their families.  We will definitely be looking forward to this next year!

Yep!  Excited to be at the zoo!

Making sand jewelry.

Sometimes I think Boston thinks he is totally in charge.

Face painting is always high on Solana's to-do list.

Hanging out, eating candy, watching sea lions.

Hows this for candid?!  Adam wins.
